The late Mr. Gilbert Foster Fernandez, a lifelong naturalist and birder, and his late wife, Josephine were well known by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, and the residents of Buzzards Bay Massachusetts, for almost single handedly bringing the Osprey population back from the brink of extinction on Buzzards Bay. Both Gilbert and Josephine were lifelong residents of Dartmouth Massachusetts.

Not known for their photography, Gilbert and Josephine were both gifted photographers and both submitted their works to various photography club exhibitions, as well as to some Audubon Society photography exhibitions. Most of these photographs have 1st place and 2nd place award stickers on them, as well as the title and date. Most of these photographs were taken in the mid 1960's, and show such influences as Ansel Adams, etc.

Although I requested that the estate liquidator return to the estate and search for the negatives, he was unable to locate them and it appears that they are lost to time. Therefore, the stock of one-off original photographs that I have acquired appear to be all that exist. We have not made copies.
