![]() Reva Brooks While in San Miguel de Allende, Reva and Leonard became key players in establishing San Miguel de Allende as a world famous art colony. While Leonard became well known in the Mexican art scene Reva quickly started gathering international fame for her photography, and was recognized by such world class photographers as Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. While in Mexico Reva was asked to take a photograph of a child who had recently died, with reluctance Reva agreed. The photos she took that day have since become famous the world over, and in 1975 The San Francisco Museum of Art included the image of the child in their “Woman of Photography” exhibit and named her as one of the top fifty female photographers of all time. Twenty years earlier in 1955 Reva was selected to be part of the New York Museum of Modern art’s most viewed photography exhibit in history, "The Family of Man". Reva Brooks photographs have been published in photographic magazines, and are in galleries, museums, and important collections the world over.
